An Alice

I'm an Alice. But no Rabbit ever came. I chased after various creatures, strange beings, before I realized they were never meant to lead me the path that I had dreamed to take. I've grown old and now I know. There is no Rabbit to come.
Veins of my emotions bleed, but there's no vampire to feast on them. So I press the wound to my lips and I greedily fill my mouth with the bittersweet fluid. I drug myself with the psychoactive ale of my soul. I faint and succumb to the abyss of my mind.
As my container walks, controlled by the currents of insipid pointlessness, my self maunders around the paradise cultivated solicitously inside the fable-engraved cage of my brain. I sing to the rhythm of resonating silence. I dance, allowing motionless wind to take the lead. I perform the most beautiful play, controlling the puppets of impossibility and nonexistance. I struggle to satisfy the demanding public of emptiness.
I'm an Alice. And unless you're my long lost Rabbit (maybe he's just late?)... unless you're a Hatter, who's gone mad, murdered the Time and was left with a broken watch... do not wake me up.
